I was introduced to BMX racing later in life and both my son and I have grown to love the sport and the people involved. I started as a volunteer at Langley BMX in 2005 and eventually fell into the Track Operator role where I have been for 4 years. I want to involve the 16 tracks in BC with everything that Cycling BC has to offer as well as building up a solid system for developing riders and events throughout the province. I look forward to working with people who share my passion for cycling, regardless of club, age or discipline. My goals as VP would be:
Certification and training of coaches at all the tracks in BC. We would have National, Provincial and local coaches all working together with consistency in training and instruction at all levels. This would also expand the ‘Learn to Ride’ program for the entire Province.
Broaden the development program at non-Cycling BC tracks. This would include clarifying the qualification process and acknowledging riders at all the tracks for their potential.
Make Customer Service a priority when dealing with members and their concerns. Have an open door policy to all members with the ability to question the direction of Cycling BC without repercussions.
Market the sport throughout the Province to introduce new riders and retain the existing riders. This would include gender specific marketing to encourage a greater female involvement.
